Baptism

Our Baptismal preparation class is offered once a month. Through this class, new parents and guardians will learn about the theology of the sacrament and study the Rite of Baptism. We will chart a course toward fulfilling your vow of raising your child in the Faith.

Parents are encouraged to sign up for this class and begin their paperwork during pregnancy. Please email [email protected] with your names and the date you will be attending the class. (You are not required to attend if you have attended this class at our parish within the past 5 years.)

Baptisms are normally held on the 1st and 2nd Sundays of each month following 11:00 AM Mass at the Church of St. Michael or the 3rd Sunday of each month after 10:30 AM Mass at St. Mary's Church.

Parents are to choose only one man or one woman (or one man and one woman) to serve as sponsors. Sponsors must be practicing Catholics, at least 16 years of age, who have been confirmed in the Catholic Church. (A person baptized in another Christian faith may stand as a Christian witness.) If married, their marriage must be sacramentally recognized in the Catholic Church. Sponsors should complete and return the Sacrament of Baptism Sponsor Form to [email protected]. 

To begin preparations for your child's Baptism, please complete and submit the Baptism Request Form and a copy of your child's birth certificate to [email protected].
