Level I (Ages 3-6): The heart of catechesis for children under six revolves around the Parable of the Good Shepherd. Jesus announces that He is the Good Shepherd who calls each one by name. The sheep listen to the voice of the Shepherd and follow Him.
Level II (Ages 6-9): The elementary-age child is drawn to the image of the True Vine. “I am the vine, you are the branches, whoever remains in Me, and I in him, will bear much fruit, because without Me you can do nothing.” This proclamation responds to the deep need of children to better know their relationship with God, family, friends, and the larger community while preparing for First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion.
Level III (Ages 9-12): The older child is delighted to understand the history of salvation through God's plan of cosmic communion, linking all people together through His love. Emphasis is placed on our response to God’s generosity, recognition of the responsibilities accompanying His great gifts, and our role as a collaborator with God.

We are in need of individuals willing to serve the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. These individuals would attend formation courses as moral and practical preparation for their time in the atrium. Each of the three levels of formation requires approximately 12 days of courses. The full cost of your formation will be covered for those who are able to commit *2 years of service in an atrium as a catechist or assistant. Assistants do not need to attend formation but are required to attend an orientation. If you are interested, please complete the form below.
*We understand that circumstances of life can fluctuate. We ask that these 2 years be completed within a 4-year time period.
